Do your best and relax: let God take control

Do you often feel that everything you do never seems enough in the eyes of your family and society? Do you sometimes feel guilty for not reaching the results that you aimed for, despite all the work you put in? Do you feel pressured to do more, to try harder, to make more money, to get better grades in your studies, to find a better job, to look better, etc? We are living in a world that demands so much from us that we may feel like a failure while everyone else around us seems to have the best life. You who are reading these words, God is inviting you today to take a break, get some rest, take the pressure off and relax in his presence.

As much as God expects us to do our best in whatever we do (Colossians 3:23), he also expects us to lean on him to take control of whatever is beyond our human capability. God does not like it when we think we can do everything on our own without him. For example, if you are working in a company and your supervisor does not like you, God expects you to keep doing your job irreproachably and do not stress yourself about the supervisor that hates you for no reason. Leave that part to God and relax your mind. In every situation, do everything you can. Do not stress yourself for the part that you cannot do. Trust God to take control of it, as it said in the book of Proverbs:

“If you trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. If you acknowledge him in all your ways, he will make straight your paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6

Let God take control, but not be lazy yourself

God hates laziness. He always expects us to do something, to work. In Genesis 2:15, “the Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to work it and keep it”. In the very beginning, God created us to work and to take care of the place in which he puts us. When you read the Bible from the first page to the last, you will notice that God always asks his chosen people to do something. In front of the Red Sea, for instance, God asks Moses to do some work so he can open the sea for the people of Israel. God said to Moses:

” lift up your rod, and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it. And the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea (Exodus 14:16)

For you who are reading this today, God is waiting for you to lift up your rod so he can divide the Red Sea that blocks you from fulfilling your dreams. God does not expect you to open the Red Sea yourself, he will do it for you. All he is asking from you is to do your part, relax your mind and let him do the rest for you. If your husband or your wife does not appreciate you the way they should, if they do wrong to you and do not treat you right, God is telling you to remain faithful to be the best wife/husband you can be, relax your mind and let God fight for you. Your job is not to change your wife or husband into a good spouse, your job is to be yourself the best spouse in the light of the word of God. Your job is not to fix everything, your job is to do your best and be your best. God will take care of the rest for you. You are not in this battle alone, as it is written in 2 Chronicles 20:17:

Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed. You will not need to fight in this battle. Stand firm, hold your position, and see the salvation of the Lord on your behalf.

We hope this article helped you to become closer to God. We pray that God sends a special miracle into your life right now. Close your eyes for a few seconds to receive it. Amen!
